re: Guild Policies

Guild Goals:

- To provide an efficient organization for progression raiding with minimal time commitment.

- To create a positive, respectful guild atmosphere.

- To have fun raiding while maintaining a high level of performance.

Policies:

Rule #1: Do not waste people's time. Always try to think about how your actions affect other people. In return for not wasting your guildmates' time, your guild leaders promise to do their best not to waste your time.

Rule #2: Don’t make yourself unpleasant. Things that would make you unpleasant include but are not limited to the following:
- Being a loot whore. Your time and energy would be better spent learning
how to improve your performance than crying over gear.
- Swearing or racist/sexist/homophobic language in guild chat or Discord. We insist on keeping a respectful, positive atmosphere, and any behavior that hinders us from maintaining such an environment will not be tolerated.
- Participating in trade/general chat nonsense. We expect that you won't embarrass us.
- Asking your guildmates for information that you’re too lazy to look up on
yourself: See Rule #1.

If you violate either of these rules, you will be warned by the GM or a council member. If you violate either rule after you have been warned, you will be demoted to Initiate status and the council will decide whether to remove you from the guild. The council really doesn’t want to deal with that, so please just try to follow these rules.

Guild Ranks:

Initiate: All new recruits, both for member and raider status, will be given a 3-week probation period. During this time, raider recruits will be expected to prove to the raid leaders that they are capable of performing to the level they claimed on their application. Recruits who do not meet our standards of performance will either be offered member status or asked to leave the guild, depending on how they fit socially. Both raider and member recruits will be evaluated to determine whether they are a good fit for the guild. Those who cause problems or annoy us will be asked to leave. Friends and family of current guild members are still subject to the probation period because being connected doesn't necessarily mean you aren't annoying or abrasive.

Member: Member status will be granted to those who wish to join the guild without being raiders. Members are still welcome to participate in unofficial guild raids (optional nights), and they may on occasion be asked to fill in during an official raid. Members who wish to become raiders will have to fill out a raider application and go through a probationary period just like any other new recruit.

Alt: Alt status is, naturally, for everyone's alts.

Raider: Raider status will be granted only to those who have filled out raider applications and been approved after a 3-week trial. Raiders are expected to meet all of the requirements listed under "Raider Expectations" and to maintain near 100% attendance. We seek to run a very tight raid roster so that we don't have very many people on the bench on any given night, but this requires everyone showing up consistently. Raiders will always receive priority invites for official raids.

Elder: Elder status is reserved for retired officers or founding members who no longer serve on the council.

Council: Council members will work with the GM to make leadership decisions for the guild. While each council member will have unique responsibilities, the council will work collaboratively to reach decisions that affect the guild as a whole. Council members are also responsible for the administrative tasks related to running the guild. They will manage the website, the dkp, and the guild bank.

Raid Assist: Raid Assists will assist the raid by helping to prepare consumables.

Guild Master: The GM will work to ensure all of the posted policies are enforced.

Leadership structure:

The guild will be governed by a council of at least two officers and the Guild Master. If a council member retires, the remaining council and the GM will appoint a new council member if they feel this is necessary. If the GM retires, the council will appoint a new GM. Council members who may develop conflicts of interest will be asked to step down. The goal of the council is to provide a group of responsible individuals with diverse opinions who can represent the guild as a whole. They, along with the GM, will be responsible for maintaining the guild website, managing the loot system, organizing and leading raids, recruiting new members, listening to and helping to resolve guild members’ concerns, and ensuring that the guild is operating in a way that is in keeping with the stated mission and goals. Council members will be expected to treat guild members with respect and to respond to their concerns in a professional manner.

Current leadership:

Mertz, Guild Master and Raid Leader

Ziiriith/TBHFam, Co-Raid Leader and Raid Management

Dakini/Seanchai, Co-Raid Leader and Raid Management
